Round 16 Tuncurry Forster U/14 Tigers Vs Taree Wilcats The Tigers hosted the Wildcats in what amounted to a battle for 4 th place, with the Tigers sitting 2 points ahead of the Taree team. The Tigers secured a 0-0 draw in a very tight game. Both teams created plenty of scoring opportunities, with Dan Murray pulling off a couple of great finger tip saves to deny the Wildcats. Paul Chipperfield and Jack Mugiven are becoming a formidable pairing in the middle of defence and they were well supported by Mark Curran, Sean Ireland and Sean Pirecki. Ryan Eschler showed great determination and skill at right midfield, while Braden Bird worked tirelessly down the left. The Double J’s, Jim ‘Jenko’ Jenkins and James Garnett complimented each other nicely in the centre of midfield, while Matt Chapman and Nick Murray showed great versatility by covering a range of positions. Our dynamic forward line of Brodie McGowan, Luke Arnold and Adam Christensen, who dragged himself out of his sick bed, caused Taree all sorts of trouble and were desperately unlucky not to find the back of the net. The progress the team has made was best reflected in their disappointment at being held to a draw. Dan Murray picked up the Holiday Coast Self Storage Coach’s award while Jack Mugiven received the players’ player award.
