Tuncurry Tigers U15’s

Tuncurry Tigers came up against a very competitive and determined Taree Wildcat Jaguars.

The first half was dominated by strong attacking raids by the Jaguars. Great reflex saves by Codey Wicks in goals remarkably kept the score 1–2 at half time. Limited scoring chances saw Brad Fitzgerald neatly offload to Cameron Dalton who drove home a great goal. Solid defensive half by Ben McMurtry, Ryan Ragno, Scott Katen and Nick Ohma were all worthy of mention.

Half time, Coach Mick forcefully stated the need for sound communication, teamwork and ball control.

Second half started with the Jaguars continuing to control the game with them striking early for their third goal. With ten minutes remaining it was a team inspirational 35 metre run by Nik Trinajstic who drove the ball into the goals leaving the goalie sprawled helplessly. This followed with a minute to spare Brad Brown offloaded to Tim Langford who smartly chipped to Cameron Dalton who drove home the equalising goal. Other notable performances again were by Ryan Ragno, Brad Fitzgerald, Lewis Araya. Codey Wicks in goals again stopped several match saving goals.

Man of the Match Award won by Ben McMurtry with the Encouragement Award going to Cameron Dalton for outstanding defensive and attacking games respectfully.

Final score 3 all with the Tigers narrowly remaining undefeated.
