After a dismal display the previous week against Lansdowne, the Tigers were looking to make amends against a Taree outfit that has blown hot and cold so far this season. From the outset it became clear that the Tigers had indeed let themselves down the previous week, with great movement, passing and general team play going a long way towards erasing the previous week's debacle. However, once the first few good chances came and went without any change to the scoreboard, one could sense that despite all their dominance luck was not with the Tigers. Despite that, the Tigers continued to move the ball beautifully at times, with good chances being saved by the very good Jaguars keeper that on another day would have gone in. Reshuffling of the backline saw Andrew Couch move out to the right and his distribution and movement was dramatically improved from the previous match. Paul Chipperfield and Luke Arnold were drafted in from the under 17''s and both put in stellar displays up front, only lacking a goal each to really ice the cake. Joey Amato made a welcome return to left fullback, and Luke Webster was in fine control in the centre of defence. Josh Gerrard's dead ball quality shone out throughout the game, but it was typical of how the match went when his thunderous last minute free kick from some distance was spectacularly saved by the keeper, with the rebound trickling agonisingly wide of the mark to see the match finish scoreless. In terms of possession, a conservative estimate would have it around 75% to the Tigers, shots on goal 22 to 3 to the Tigers and it was not until the 60 minute mark that the Tigers were forced to make a goal kick. Luke Arnold was a very deserving player's player, and Luke Webster won the coaches award. Final score Tigers nil, Jaguars nil.
